Grand Case after dark, how to pick your spot

2 August 2026

After dark, the Grand Case boulevard shifts gear: around thirty tables, lolos down by the bridge, bars with your feet in the sand. Here is how to choose.

Terraces light up, menus come out onto the pavement, and most people decide while walking, somewhere between the bridge and Petite Plage at the far end.

For dinner that matters

Grand Case built its reputation on a handful of restored Creole houses lined up along the boulevard. Le Pressoir at number 30 and L'Auberge Gourmande at 89 serve classic French cooking in rooms with the original woodwork. La Villa at 93 and Le Cottage lean on the terrace and the view over the bay. For Italian, Spiga sits slightly off the strip on Route de l'Espérance, with a deep wine list. In high season the boulevard fills up fast, so booking saves you a lap.

For a great meal without the bill

At the bridge end of the boulevard, the lolos serve the grilled, generous side of local cooking: chicken, ribs, lobster, snapper, with rice and peas, gratins and salads. Sky's the Limit and Talk of the Town are the two you notice from the street, but they are not the only ones, so look around before you sit down. Sky's the Limit took the barbecue award at the 2024 Saint-Martin Gastronomy Festival, for the second year running.

For a drink with your feet in the sand

Calmos Café at number 40 is the beach side landmark, with live music programmed regularly in the late afternoon. Ocean 82 and La Petite Plage open straight onto the bay. At the eastern end of the village, the Sunset Café at Grand Case Beach Club, on Route de Petite Plage, looks out over Créole Rock, the bay, and Anguilla in the distance on a clear evening.

For a later night

Blue Martini at 63 and JAVA at 70 run DJs and party nights, mostly in high season. But Grand Case is not a club district: the night usually ends at a terrace bar rather than on a dancefloor.

Tuesdays, but not all year

Les Mardis de Grand Case, launched in 2003 as Harmony Night by the local restaurant and business association, closes the boulevard to traffic and fills it with stalls, musicians and a parade. Two details worth knowing before you drive over: it runs on Tuesdays from 6pm to 10:30pm, and only from January to April. The rest of the year, the boulevard keeps its village pace.

Before you come

September and October are the low point of the island season, and several places close or cut their hours. A phone call before you set off is the safe move. Parking gets tight as soon as the boulevard fills, and the municipal car park is the easiest option. L'Espérance airport sits right next door, so late in the day you will see planes coming in low over the bay.
